The El Monte Avenue Corridor Study proposes to identify and incorporate safety improvements. The project is currently in the Design Phase.
The City contracted with Mott MacDonald to conduct a corridor study. We published the El Monte Avenue Corridor Study Final Report in September 2023.
The study identified three conceptual plans/alternatives, and Alternative 3, the road diet, was determined to be the prefered alternative:
- Alternative 1 - No Side Street Restriction
- Alternative 2 - Some Side Street Restriction
- Alternative 3 - Road Diet
